Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates who have successfully completed the Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program can work as assistant technical personnel in private veterinary hospitals, clinics and laboratories as well as many related organizations within the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry by gaining the title of technician. Livestock farming in our country is showing a rapid development in parallel with the developments seen in other fields and therefore, traditional and primitive breeding units are being replaced by larger capacity, modern livestock enterprises. In parallel with all these developments in the sector, these programs have been opened in order to train qualified intermediate staff needs of enterprises. In private farms, they can find a place for themselves as auxiliary staff in poultry, cattle (meat-dairy), sheep breeding enterprises and feed industry. While many breeding and production farms are established in animal husbandry, integrated organizations in the poultry sector focus on widespread technical and field services. Again, as a result of social and cultural development, the number of domestic and pet animals is increasing rapidly, and the demand for qualified technical staff in veterinary clinics, cat and dog boarding houses, training and breeding units is increasing. In addition to all these, the fact that feed factories have changed and switched to scientific and technological production has increased the need for both laboratory and technical field staff in the feed industry and it has become difficult to provide these staff. Recently, the necessity of improving the structure of the enterprises and increasing their capacities within the framework of the harmonization process with the European Union has also revealed the necessity of employing qualified technical staff in these enterprises.
